richard and i flew in from venice to meet up with cath and her friends. my first time in paris so i was excited to see the sights and judge the so called 'hospitality' of the people of paris for myself. we lodged close to notre dame in a very nice hotel. it was january so the weather was cold and gloomy. we did all the regular touristy spots - eiffel tower, notre dame and arc de triumph. my assessment was that the people in paris are no ruder than the ones in new york city!

richard and i did florence in a day. we took the train from venice early morning and caught the las train back.
