richard and i did florence in a day. we took the train from venice early morning and caught the las train back. it was sunny in florence albeit cold. we had come prepared with a list of sights we would see and we hit pretty much all of them, including the museum housing the original sculpture of david by michelangelo. unfortunately the pics that i took were lost in a disk crash (stupid computer!), so these are actually richard'd pics. not bad for a day trip, huh!

richard had some time to kill as cath was busy in london on an official visit. he urged me to join him in venice.
